Doctor Spotlight: Dr. David Brandli of Lowcountry Ambulatory Center

Dr. David Brandli is a native of Newport beach California. He received his BS in Kinesiology from UCLA in 1990 and continued his education at Jefferson Memorial Medical College with a Masters in Molecular Biology. Dr. Brandli was a research scientist and a Ph.D. candidate before going to Medical School. Once he received his Medical Degree from Penn State University, he completed his residency training in General Surgery and Urology at Indiana University in Indianapolis. He has been board certified since 2005.

His primary practice is General Urology but he has a special interest in Oncology and Kidney Stone Disease. In his career, he has written more than 20 published scientific abstracts and peer-reviewed journal article and made scientific presentations and lectures on various topics. Dr. Brandli is extremely active at area hospitals and is a member of many associations, including American Urologic Association, American Association of Clinical Urologist, American Endourologic Association and American Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons.

Dr. Brandli’s most current accomplishment was being voted second in the 2017 Best Urologist by Mount Pleasant Magazine where he was only beaten by fellow LAC doctor, Dr. Kelly Shaffer.

Dr. Brandli is happily married to his wife, Heather, and has 3 daughters, Meagan (24), Madison (21) and Amelia (10). He is an active boater and an avid drummer. He frequently plays gigs around town.

Lowcountry Ambulatory Center’s OR Coordinator, Laura Caraway shared her thoughts on Dr. Brandli. “He has many great qualities. Two of which being, the relationship he has with his patients and how well he can shoot his gloves into the trash. His nickname in the OR is “basketball Brandli”. But in all seriousness, he is a wonderful physician and a pleasure to work with.”
